Meoncross
School is committed to accepting children with a wide range of abilities,
but does not cater for children needing an intensive level of support
on a one-to-one basis. The school aims to find and build on the
strengths of each child and to help each child to realise his or
her full potential.
A pupil at Meoncross School is deemed to have need of learning
support if he/she has a significantly greater difficulty in learning
than the majority of children of his/her age.
Admission
Provided
a pupil meets the criteria of the school’s admission policy,
a pupil may be accepted if he/she already has an Educational Psychologist’s
assessment or with the understanding that one is carried out. It
is therefore quite possible that the school might accept a child
whose literacy skills are behind those of his/her peers and who
might benefit from small classes and individual attention.
It is very unlikely that the school would be able to admit a child
with a Statement of Special Educational Needs or one with severe
physical disabilities as the school is not equipped to offer specific
resources and/or skills to meet the needs of such children.
