Celebrating A Level Success
Congratulations are in order for our students who have completed post-16 studies.
We are today celebrating a clean sweep of success in the sixth form with the publication of A-level and equivalent results. 83% of grades achieved are A*-B.
Christopher Dunster achieved A* in Maths, A in Physics and B in both Chemistry and Further Maths.
Chris joined us into Year 9 and he has benefited hugely from the small classes, high levels of stretch and challenge and the tailored approach to teaching and learning.
Fellow sixth form student India James has also performed superbly well, achieving grade A in A-level Design and Technology (Textiles) and double distinction star in Business CTEC Level 3, equivalent to two A-levels.
India credits our small school with giving her the confidence to achieve what she did not think possible.
Claire Jepson, Head of Sixth Form, added: “The small size of our sixth form means courses and support are tailored to each student. In both India and James’ case we have delivered a highly-specific portfolio of study and they have fulfilled their potential as a direct result.
“Knowing our children inside out, across the age range, is what we do best,” she added.
Headmistress Sarah Ebery said: “Well done to our sixth form students and their tutors. All have worked incredibly hard and today they enjoy the fruits of their labour.”
We opened the sixth form in 2015 and these are the first set of results. We offer a mixture of traditional A Level subjects as well as other courses of study, based on the interests, ability and career aspirations of pupils.
