Clubs and societies run throughout the year, offering our pupils many opportunities to broaden their horizons by trying new things, discovering hidden talents and becoming intellectually and culturally curious beyond the curriculum. Extracurricular activities also offer pupils the chance to socialise with their peers whilst taking part in an enjoyable event.
Across the school we provide a breadth of activities offered on a weekly basis at lunchtimes and after school, many of which change termly, and pupils are encouraged to participate in at least one club per week.
A number of our extra-curricular activities are sports based and seasonal; namely professional tennis coaching, football, netball shooting, hockey, rugby, cricket and rounders.
Opportunities for musical expression flood the school and extend from singing in Choirs, the Saxophone group, the Orchestra and the instrumental ensembles e.g. drumming. We also offer classes in composition and music theory.
Drama is also well represented, with a weekly drama club, and annual productions which include both a Shakespeare play in the autumn, and a Musical in the summer.
Clubs are offered in other areas, and the following is a non-exhaustive list: Newspaper Club, Debating, Film Appreciation Society, First Aid Club, Gardening, Table-top Games, Scrap-booking, Debating, Speed-stacking, Computer Coding, Chess, Cookery, Gig-rowing and a twice termly Culture Club lecture.
In addition, out-of-hours weekly academic workshops are offered to pupils in a variety of subjects, either in preparation for examinations or as the need arises.
