Nursery Beach School at the Witterings
The Nursery trip to West Wittering was a huge success! The weather was glorious and everyone had so much fun. Once at the beach we talked about our beach safety rules which apply to our usual Beach School. An area was marked with cones ensuring children kept safe within the zoned area. The children were very excited to see so much sand and could not wait to remove their boots and socks and feel the lovely warm sand between their toes. They used the wet sand to build sandcastles galore and dug out a very long trench using the spades. They made up their own games using the balls and hoops. The tide was out making it ideal for the children to paddle in and the water was lovely and warm.
The children were provided with a delicious picnic lunch made by chef Debbie which we ate on the field. We finished the day with a stroll back along the beach and through the sand dunes whist looking out for interesting shells. We stopped at the beach safety information board and discussed the different safety signs and flags.
We finally walked across the field before boarding the mini bus back to school. The children were obviously exhausted from all the fun and fresh air as on arrival at school there were several children asleep!!
