Welcome to Meoncross School
A child's educational journey should be as unique as they are. We pride ourselves on our holistic approach whereby every child has the individual attention they need to thrive and succeed both in and out of the classroom. At Meoncross, every child is safe to say ‘I can be the best possible ME’.
We are very proud to be a through school for children aged 2.5 - 16 years, meaning we can welcome children into our school at any point in their educational journey. This could be at a natural key stage transition point such as starting 'big school' in Reception, Juniors in Year 3, or Upper School in Year 7, or anything in between.
Academic achievement is high, but so is our focus on wellbeing, as we know that happy children are high achieving children. We nurture our pupils and develop the characteristics and qualities we know they will need to build bright futures.
Excellent Academics
We were ranked 21st nationally in Times Parent Power Guide in 2025, and we have a proven track record of achieving excellence when it comes to academic results. Our pupils routinely achieve results well above the national average, from our Early Years to key Primary stages and GCSE results.
Holistic Approach
Emotional intelligence is just as important as academic achievement and we want our pupils to be confident, compassionate and capable young people. We believe it’s crucial to develop a child’s character through teaching transferable skills that will help them to thrive in the future.
We Are Meoncross
We have a strong family ethos, and instil a sense of great pride in our school community. We look after, support and encourage each other to always be our best.
At Meoncross, we often talk about the right school being “a feeling”, and in our school film we wanted to convey what a special and unique feeling there is at our school.
We hope you enjoy watching our film, and we look forward to welcoming you to experience Meoncross in person if you would like to find out more.
“Family is our central value and that means we are accepting, that we are kind to each other, we seek to understand and appreciate each other.”

Year 5 have been busy bringing history to life this term through Design & Technology...
After weeks of researching, sketching, and refining their designs, they’ve now moved into the exciting practical stage...crafting their very own Viking shields from plywood! 🛡🛠
Each shield is based on their carefully planned final design, complete with a vacuum-formed boss, laser cut fine details and an ergonomic handle for the perfect fit. Mr James has been thoroughly impressed with the pupils’ creativity, focus, and resilience throughout the practical work. 🥽💭
One of the many benefits of being an all-through school is that our pupils can access facilities and experiences that are often reserved for older pupils. Year 5 have had the opportunity to work with specialist equipment and be taught by a subject specialist, giving them a truly enriching, hands-on learning experience that brings their learning to life. 🤩

We’re thrilled to have kicked off another year of Beach School! 🌊✨
Last week, our Reception class enjoyed a beach session, which began with a beach clean. All our beach sessions begin this way, to help us care for our coastline and instil a love and respect for the environment from an early age. 💙
The soft sand made the perfect setting for digging and exploring, and the children took part in a scavenger hunt along the strandline. Their treasure boxes were soon filled with exciting discoveries!
We’re incredibly proud of how well everyone followed our Beach School rules and represented Meoncross so beautifully within the local community.
Here’s to many more Beach School adventures this year! 🏖

Year 4’s Trip to the Mary Rose Museum in Portsmouth 🚢
The day began with Henry’s Heroes, a hands-on workshop where pupils explored replica artefacts, compared the lives of rich and poor crew members, and dressed up in Tudor costumes.
The 4D cinema experience brought the story of the Mary Rose`s discovery and dramatic recovery to life and it truly felt as though they were there! 🤩
Afterwards, pupils explored the museum, and spoke with expert guides, showing curiosity and a real enthusiasm for learning. A real highlight was stepping through the airlock to view the preserved remains of the Mary Rose up close.🚢
Even the journey was special, with a ferry ride across the same harbour where the ship once sailed. ⛵
Here’s what some of us had to say about the day:
💬“We really enjoyed the buggy ride!” – Florence & Edward
💬 “The 4D diving made us feel like we were actually underwater.” – Rex & Luke
💬 “It was fantastic to travel across the harbour where the Mary Rose sank.” – Callum & Betty
💬 “The Mary Rose was beautiful.” – Nicholas
💬 “It really brought our learning to life.” – Ebsy

I hope it will be clear to you how important our values are to us as a community; we genuinely strive to live by them seeing ourselves as a family where optimism and kindness stand shoulder to shoulder with opportunities and high academic achievement.
Just like any family, we know that every child has their strengths and their struggles, and we encourage and support them all, whilst genuinely appreciating and understanding the individuals they are.
Only by getting this mix right, can we hope to ensure that all our pupils leave Meoncross ready to flourish in this constantly evolving world of ours.
