Welcome to Meoncross School
A child's educational journey should be as unique as they are. We pride ourselves on our holistic approach whereby every child has the individual attention they need to thrive and succeed both in and out of the classroom. At Meoncross, every child is safe to say ‘I can be the best possible ME’.
We are very proud to be a through school for children aged 2.5 - 16 years, meaning we can welcome children into our school at any point in their educational journey. This could be at a natural key stage transition point such as starting 'big school' in Reception, Juniors in Year 3, or Upper School in Year 7, or anything in between.
Academic achievement is high, but so is our focus on wellbeing, as we know that happy children are high achieving children. We nurture our pupils and develop the characteristics and qualities we know they will need to build bright futures.
Excellent Academics
We were ranked 10th nationally in Times Parent Power Guide in 2026, and we have a proven track record of achieving excellence when it comes to academic results. Our pupils routinely achieve results well above the national average, from our Early Years to key Primary stages and GCSE results.
Holistic Approach
Emotional intelligence is just as important as academic achievement and we want our pupils to be confident, compassionate and capable young people. We believe it’s crucial to develop a child’s character through teaching transferable skills that will help them to thrive in the future.
We Are Meoncross
We have a strong family ethos, and instil a sense of great pride in our school community. We look after, support and encourage each other to always be our best.
At Meoncross, we often talk about the right school being “a feeling”, and in our school film we wanted to convey what a special and unique feeling there is at our school.
We hope you enjoy watching our film, and we look forward to welcoming you to experience Meoncross in person if you would like to find out more.
“Family is our central value and that means we are accepting, that we are kind to each other, we seek to understand and appreciate each other.”
- Sarah Ebery, Head of Meoncross

Dr Clarke and Nurse Isla visited our Reception class as part of their topic, ‘People Who Help Us’ 🏥✨
The children loved learning about their important roles in the surgery and enjoyed hands-on activities, including bandaging, listening to heartbeats, and they even practiced giving injections 💉🩺
They were delighted to take home their very own stethoscopes, syringes, bandages and masks! 😊
A big thank you to Dr Clarke and Nurse Isla for such an engaging and inspiring visit 👏
A wonderful World Book Day in Lower School! ✨📚
Our Lower School pupils had a fantastic time celebrating World Book Day recently, arriving in school dressed in a range of brilliant and imaginative costumes.
We were delighted to welcome author Colin Parsons, who delivered an engaging assembly and inspired our Year 5 and 6 pupils during a creative story-writing workshop.
Throughout the day, pupils also enjoyed taking part in the World Book Day classroom door design challenge and the National Book Token design competition, before ending the day with some cosy reading time in their classrooms.
A truly magical day celebrating books, creativity, and imagination! 📖🌟

Both the Lower School and Upper School Choir recently travelled to Reading to compete in the ISA National A Cappella Competition 🎶🌟
🏆 We are delighted to share that the Lower School Choir were crowned winners, impressing the judges with their performance of Price Tag by Jessie J, cleverly incorporating elements of Count on Me.
Pupils and staff alike had an unforgettable experience, celebrating their dedication, teamwork, and musical talent. We couldn’t be prouder and are already looking forward to returning next year! 🎤✨

Last week, a group of Year 7 and 8 students from our Sustainability Group visited Tynefield Farm 🌱🚜
The visit focused on understanding how farming practices impact our local environment, and how our everyday food choices can influence the health of the planet 🌍
During the visit, pupils explored free-range and low-impact farming methods, gaining insight into how they work. They asked a wide range of questions, including details of the farms breeding programs and how they use pigs to improve soil quality🐖🌾
There were plenty of memorable moments throughout the morning, including feeding orphaned goat kids, seeing new born lambs, and pigs at various stages of their development. 🐑🐐
To round off the visit, students even had the opportunity to purchase sausages produced on the farm to enjoy at home 🌭
Overall, it was a fantastic and enriching experience for everyone involved ✨ Thank you for having us Tynefield Farm @thekenyanpigfarmer 🌳
