Holistic Approach & Wellbeing

Prioritising the wellbeing of all our pupils

At Meoncross, we put as much emphasis on the wellbeing of our pupils, as we do their academic achievement. We know children will not achieve their best academically unless they are happy; therefore we put significant effort into ensuring all our pupils are well cared for, emotionally, and academically.

This emotional resilience will allow pupils to be positively engaged and focused in lessons, as well as create enthusiasm around the pursuit of other opportunities that Meoncross has to offer.

All-round pastoral support

At Meoncross, we believe our dedicated and nurturing approach to pastoral care truly sets us apart.

Our holistic ethos ensures that pupils not only achieve their full academic potential, but also grow into well-rounded, capable, and compassionate individuals, who are ready to thrive at college and beyond, and to contribute positively to the wider world.

To support this, our Upper School benefits from the leadership of an Assistant Head (Pastoral), a long-serving, highly respected, and experienced member of staff who knows our pupils well and is always available to support them when challenges arise.

This vital role is further strengthened by our two Pastoral Leads for Key Stages 3 and 4, alongside our committed team of Community Tutors. These staff members provide day-to-day pastoral care, building strong, supportive relationships with their tutees through daily interactions that promote wellbeing, engagement, and personal development.

Our son’s curiosity for learning is nurtured and his wellbeing is a priority. His teachers care about him and his interests are fostered. His hard work is recognised and celebrated.
